You Decide: Map

The team needs your help! We’ve come up with 2 concepts for the final level selection map and are having troubles choosing the best one. Here they are:

LevelSelect_YouDecide

During the beta test, we want to give our players the opportunity to influence key parts of the game. This vote will determine how all future Mech Mice levels will be displayed – very cool!

In the comments, vote for the one you like better – option A or option B and tell us why. Let the voting begin!

Mech Mice Trailer #1 - Meet Flank

Mech Mice has release a new video! Colonel Black introduces you.. Flank, the Heavy unit!

Mech Mice Beta Updates

Mech Moose has updated us on the Mech Mice Beta in a blog post on the Mech Mice Blog

We just pushed the big ol’ live button on a feature we know you’ve been asking for – USERNAMES!

Keep in mind usernames won’t be displayed in game right now – we just wanted to give you a better way to login other than an email address. Also, you never know when it might come in handy. Future proofing for the win!

Screen Shot 2013-07-25 at 2.28.26 PM

You’ll also notice that we updated the action points on the unit portraits to make them more obvious. Action points are the amount of times a unit can move or shoot in a turn.

Mech Mice Official Level 1 - 5 Walkthrough

Cody, Lance and Cale have released Mech Mice's official Level 1 -5 video walkthrough. It's almost 20 minutes long but it has some pretty cool commentary from 3 of who are involved in the production of Mech Mice.

Mech Mice Beta Updates!

It’s only been a week since the beta test started and approximately 9,000 Mech Mice levels have been played! Wow!

Oh and the Team made some updates on Mech Mice. First things first, we’ve added a level selection screen and your progress will now be saved. Woohoo!

Level Select

Secondly, a new level has been released! Yes, Level 1-6 is now available for the Founders to play. This level is very different from the others – we would love to know what you think!

Level 1-6

Lastly, the Team received feedback that the unit portraits at the bottom of the screen were getting in the way. To fix this, they moved them to the left side of the screen. Booyah!

HUD Move

Jump on play.mechmice.com and check out the awesome changes!

The Future of Mech Mice

Whew! We finally launched the Mech Mice Beta and the response has been overwhelming. I have always wanted to create a tactical strategy game. A game that encouraged players to “think and move” not “run and shoot”.
The Mech Mice Beta is only a small glimpse into the huge world we have planned. Over the next couple months we will introduce you to many more fantastic heroes, dangerous robotic monsters, and epic adventures.

Blaze&Flank

As the number of Mech Mice fans continue to grow, we are planning to add the ability to play with your friends in 2014. Perhaps Mech Mice will expand with villages to explore and burrows for your mice. You, the fan will decide how fast Mech Mice will grow. This is your game, enjoy!

Level 2 - Desert Ambush Walkthrough

Level Two - Desert Ambush

Your orders are:

  •  Get to Tumbleweed
  • Destroy any enemies you find
  • Check on Local Villages

The hexagon are tiles that you move on. The different between Level 1 and 2 is that you have Flank with you now. Guidance and orders will appear at the top of your screen.

This level isn't really hard. Walk along the path. Beware of... GAHH!!! Mutant Bugs!!!

More!

There's a fork! The exact road is up but why not give farmer Bucktooth a visit?

Uh-oh! The Bugs did this...

Oh no!

Something smells fishy...

A Healing Flower! Use it wisely.

More Bugs!

Who's behind that cactus???

Weird... But I think he is mentioning something, don't you?

What's behind that tree?

Swirl Portal!!

Mech Mice Beta Bug Report

Mech Moose has updated us about the Beta Test of Mech Mice in a post lately!

Report 1 – Known Bugs

  • No Save Points, Level Select or Logout Button
  • Mice Freeze Sometimes in Level 3
  • Mice Health Bar Isn’t Working Properly
  • Characters Still Talk After Dying
  • Mice Can Walk Through Each Other
  • Bugs Sometimes Walk Onto the Hex You are On
  • Mice Appear Pink In-Game
  • Bugs and Mice can Shoot Through Obstacles
  • Mice Can Activate Towers in Level 1 When They Aren’t Close to Them
  • ‘Skip Turn’ Button Displays ‘Enemy Turn’ Even When No Bugs are Around
  • Clicking Learn More After Level 3 Doesn’t Always Work
  • Avatar Cards Block Hexes
  • Players Can Hide in the Boxes After Destroying the 3rd Spawn Hatch in Level 3

Report 2 – Fixed Bugs

  •  Screen Resolution Problem (Please Clear Your Web Browser’s Cache if You Are Still Having Any Problems)

Report 3 – Clarification

Tokens:

  • *Right now, finding the secret Treasure Tokens just gives you bragging rights. But soon they’ll give you lots of cool rewards for finding them. What kind of rewards? Stuff like power ups, achievements, and experience points.

Hexes:

  • *Green hexes mean there’s a switch you can push, red hexes mean you can attack what’s on it, and blue hexes mean you can move there.
  • You may notice sometimes there are blue hexes with dotted lines – these show you how far your unit can go if they use BOTH their Action Points to move.  And using them can even give your unit a move bonus.
  • Bugs are weaker in Level 3:
  • *It’s true! Well actually it’s not. Bugs are exactly the same. What’s changed however is that your mice are stronger.

Leveling Up:

  • In Mech Mice, your units will gain Experience Points as you play, and eventually they’ll level up and get more powerful. We plan for this to happen the first time, by the time you reach level 1-3 – making Blaze and Flank more powerful just before the big battle in Tumbleweed.
  •  Don’t worry, level ups will be much cooler in the final game (and will even let you customize your units a bit).
Found a bug? Report them to the Mech Mice Team and they'll fix it!

Founder Engineer Unlocked!

As you might know, there's this Founders Code you might see on Mech Mice. It's something like a Membership on Mech Mice. It was a success! The Beta Test too! Here's a post Mech Moose made:

Mech Mice has been live for only 2 days and we’ve already received a great response! Here are some really cool stats we’ve collected so far:
Time Played: 1,842 hrs.
Bugs Killed: 112,062
Shots Fired: 207,508
Hexes Traveled: 1,334,347
On a different note, we have some really great news – the Founders Engineer has been unlocked! Her name is Gamma, and she’s quite the character.

Engineer_Gamma

Long ago, Gamma was captured by the Dark Union, who implanted her with mechanical parts. What they didn’t plan on was for those parts to give her the power to break free. Now a member of the Founders, she is cold, calculating and hyper intelligent. And she can take apart any Dark Union tech in the blink of an eye…
Gamma will be available to Founders when we officially launch this Fall! The next unit to be unlocked is Turner, the Dragoon. For more information on the Founders program, visit the Mech Mice shop.
How is everyone enjoying the beta so far? There will be some really cool updates coming soon, so stay tuned to the blog for sneak peeks and more!

Walkthrough

Level One - The Beginning

Each level has its own name. The first one is called The Beginning. Your orders are to repair 3 radar towers, meet up with the Heavy unit and report anything unusual.

You'll find yourself starting here. The hexagon tiles are the places you can go on.

At the top of your screen is where your orders and guidance appear.

Now walk up and blast the cactus blocking your way. There was supposed to be two but I blasted one.

Here's the first radar tower! Power it up! (I powered it.)

You might find Secret Tokens along the way too!

The second one is at the right, outside of these crumbled fence.

Obstacles have a red ring around them. You click them to shoot them down. Eventually they disappear. Other items have green rings. These are good. You'll meet up with other team members who you end up controlling.

These are the team members you have right now. Every mouse gets one turn each. The one highlighted in blue is the mouse you're using now. The green bar below is the power left in your gun.

There are three tokens in each level. Find all three if you can!

The last one is further up ahead! Yipee!

Uh-oh! They're not just any bugs, they're Mutant Bugs! Which of course, you have to shoot down. They do shoot back, so be careful!

This one is a stronger one! There's something fishy going on...

Swirly portals mark the end of each level.

Step in...

And...
